How to paint cactus in Watercolor

1. Draw a vertical oval, is the main of the cactus. Color: as shown

2. Draw the branches of the cactus and make 3 small ellipses on both sides of the large ellipse. The whole shape of the cactus is now drawn.

3. Draw the shadow part of the cactus with the colors as shown in the figure. Next, draw a flower pot. Add water with lemon yellow, draw the base color of the flowerpot.
Note: when drawing two adjacent parts, do not draw when the water is not dry. It is easy to mix the colors of the two parts together, which will destroy the whole picture. You should wait for the cactus color to dry before drawing the pot color.

4. Draw the shadow of the cactus as shown in the figure. The contrast of light and shade is clearer, which can reflect the texture of cactus.
Note: pay attention to the excessive color when painting again, you can first draw a dark shadow, and then use another brush with white water to make the color transition more natural.
Draw cactus flowers. The colors are shown here.
Draw a flower pot. Draw the shaded part of the pot and draw the middle color of the pot with the color shown.

5. Details.
Draw the detail of the cactus.
Note: some of the thorns are drawn in front of a painter so when viewed from a vertical Angle, the thorns are just a dot.
Draw a flower pot. Draw the shade of the pot in a dark brown. Light and shade contrast is strong, showing the three-dimensional flowerpot.
Painting flowers. Draw the center part with the color of the picture, the color that is close to the center of the flower is darker. Draw the center of the flower in yellow.
Finally, when the watercolor is dry, draw the outline of the flowerpot and cactus with a special black ink pen.
Well done, now we see a lovely cactus.
